Maize contains a high level of energy. Maize pellets are suited for horses that are not in good condition. Because the nutrients, vitamins and minerals in corn are limited, you should avoid feeding an animal only corn pellets. Maize is low on proteins and fibre and therefore, should be supplemented with roughage. Hartog Lucerne-mix is the perfect supplement to maize pellets as it provides the necessary supplement of fibres, proteins and essential amino acids.
